If you don't like how it works ... try another ... or create your own -- Tips for effective use of filters -- mandatory filter A mandatory filter will hide articles which (1) expose Indymedia to legal problems (mainly threats) or (2) link to (or obviously promote) neo-nazi webpages or groups. All other filters can be disabled by choosing the "No Filter" filter. default filter The default filter (ie: seaimc-4 ) will be installed for all new readers (ie: until or unless you choose a different filter). It will hide articles from right-wing trolls and the brain-damaged as well as commercial spam, duplicates and test posts. one filter can include another Filters can include one another. This means that many filters can be combined into a single filter. For example, many of the filters here use the default filter so that they do not need to find and hide a lot of the newswire spam.
